Dr. Ehab M. Soliman, M.D.

Dr. Ehab Soliman is the former Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Cairo University. He graduated in 1984, and completed his three years residency program in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Kasr Alainy School of Medicine in 1989.

He earned his Fellowship in Assisted Reproduction and Infertility at Edòuard Herriot Hospital, University of Claude Bernard, Lyon, France in 1991. Three years later he earned his Doctorat (M.D.) degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Cairo University.

After holding the post of Lecturer in 1994, he continued his career at Cairo University School of Medicine till he was promoted to Professor in 2004, and in 2019 he was assigned as chairman of the department.

Skills & Experience

Dr. Ehab is a highly trained and experienced fertility specialist, and has been practicing infertility and in vitro fertilization for over 30 years after completing his Fellowship in France. He worked as the chief fertility specialist in two highly reputable IVF centers in Cairo, before assisting in the foundation and establishment of the elite Hayat center in 2007, to deliver up-to-date fertility services, combined with experience, which include thousands of IVF/ICSI cycles. He is also the founder of the IVF center in Kasr Alainy - Cairo University, which was launched in 2010.

Dr. Ehab is also highly trained and experienced in Gynecologic surgery, including gynecologic oncology, with special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic). He has organized and participated in many training courses for teaching young doctors the basic and advanced skills of endoscopic surgery.

Dr. Ehab is an imminent and highly experienced obstetrician, delivering thousands since his early practice in 1985, achieving high successful outcome in hundreds of difficult ‘high risk’ pregnant women, working in a multidisciplinary team with other medical specialties. He is pro ‘natural’ vaginal birth, unless there is an obstetrical contraindication.

He is the primary or contributing author on 26 papers in peer-reviewed journals; in 1999, he earned the Sorono award for the best paper published in the Middle East Fertility Journal. He is an active member of five international societies including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Middle East Fertility Society, the Egyptian Fertility Society and the Egyptian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
